Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery

July 13, 2023 - Writer/director Rian Johnson brings back Daniel Craig for another go round as private detective Benoit Blanc. The cast of this PG-13 film from 2022 also includes Edward Norton, Kate Hudson, Kathryn Hahn and Janelle Monáe.

Norton plays a tech mogul named Miles Bron (think a combination of Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos). He invites a few of his closest friends to his own private Greek island for a murder mystery weekend – with him as the victim! No one seems quite sure how or why Blanc scored an invitation, but no matter, the more the merrier. Until, that is, Blanc solves Bron's fake murder within minutes. But, it's not long until one of the actual invited guests turns up dead. Now the world's greatest detective has an actual murder to solve.

Overall review: *** It's fast-moving and funny. And, because the answers start getting revealed about halfway through, you don't have to think too hard. Just sit back and enjoy the shenanigans.
