Made of Honor

March 21, 2009 - McDreamy from Grey's Anatomy wakes up to find himself in a movie that's neither good nor bad, neither funny nor boring. Starring alongside Patrick Dempsey are Michelle Monaghan (from Gone Baby Gone) and Kevin McKidd (who currently plays Owen Hunt on Grey's). Sydney Pollack, Kathleen Quinlan and James Sikking have smaller roles.

Dempsey plays a rich guy named Tom who's really rich now because he invented the coffee collar (that cardboard thing that goes around your coffee cup). Monaghan is Hannah, currently working as some sort of art expert at a museum in NYC. They met 10 years earlier when both were students at Cornell and Tom mistakenly got into bed with Hannah. Over the years, they've become best friends, but Tom is a confirmed bachelor who juggles lots of women by following his own set of dating rules.

Tom's outlook starts to change when Hannah is sent on a six-week business trip to Scotland. Tom realizes that he loves her but, before he can tell her, Hannah introduces Tom to Colin (McKidd), her new Scottish fiancé. Then, because Tom is her best friend, Hannah asks him to be her maid of honor. He says yes and plots to use the opportunity to change Hannah's mind.

Overall review: ** My main feeling about this movie is that I have no feeling about this movie. It's just kind of there. It has a few funny moments but just as many unfunny ones. The characters are not unlikeable but I didn't particularly care about them, either. That's pretty much it. Watch it if you want, but you won't be missing anything if you don't.
