Welcome...

As I continue to work on this site, you can still visit my previous site at http://mysite.verizon.net/jenster13.  Thanks.

What's New

I have put the political website into full '08 mode.  You can check it out HERE.  There's also a link on the "journal" page.

Sorry for the lack of updates lately.  I've been busy with house stuff for a couple weeks.  On July 14, I updated the book review on the "Books" page and changed the movie review on the "ShowBiz" page.  Also, I added another presidential candidate to the political wing of the website.  That's enough for one day, I think.

Where does the time go?  It's July already.  Why not mark the lazy, hazy days of summer by taking in a lawn concert at NISSLEY VINEYARDS in Lancaster County.  The music's good and so is the wine.

Word Up!

A panel of linguists has decided the word that best reflects 2007 is subprime, an adjective used to define a risky or less than ideal loan, mortgage or investment.

Subprime was also the winner of a brand-new 2007 category for real estate words, a category which reflects the preoccupation of the press and public for the past year with a deepening mortgage crisis.

The American Dialect Society chose the word on January 4, 2008 at its meeting in Chicago.  Other words receiving votes included Facebook, waterboarding and the environmentally-friendly prefix green.
